EPISODE 8 SPECIAL! CARNARVON MULLOWAY

Views:  3807

Starring Steve Correia and Paul Green

Almost every angler would list the mighty mulloway in their Top 5 dream fish. They're not only smart and shy, mulloway have very set feeding patterns and once you hook them, you then have to try and stop them!

While you can catch mulloway from the east coast of Australia right through the Great Australian Bight and well into WA, the fishing town of Carnarvon, some 900km north of Perth, is renowned as a mulloway hotspot.

In fact, Steve has a 100% mulloway record in Carnarvon so far but this time he's up against it. The team only have 3 short days to find a mulloway for Paul, fish the dangerous cliffs of Quobba and then head 50km offshore to fish an island that most people will never even see.

Throughout the course of this one hour special, you'll learn how to fish Carnarvon for bream, tailor, dart, snapper and, of course, mulloway. It covers shore fishing, small boat fishing and charter options.

You'll also see behind the scenes footage showing you just what it takes to make a fishing show.

If you like fishing, you won't want to miss a minute of this!

Ep3 SAMSONFISH JIGGING MYTHS EXPLODED @ ROTTNEST

Views:  13744

Our local fishing legend today is Andrew Keith, a jigging specialist, especially for the legendary samsonfish, which is something that Perth anglers take for granted. A “small sambo” to WA locals is about 30 pounds …

These fish, powered by Mack Trucks, school in the deep waters off of the world’s most isolated city throughout the months that see temperatures push towards 42 and 45 degrees Celcius. Many articles have been written about the power and, 10 years since “jigging” became popular, the fish are bigger, meaner and hanging out with the sort of sharks your mother warned you about.

A school of these relatives of the yellowtail kingfish and amberjack can number in the thousands and, during this episode, Steve fishes with his expert jigging instructor Andrew Keith.

Andrew is a jigging specialist, using 80lb custom braid and rods designed to work big lures in water from 100 to 500 metres deep. In this experiment, the boys use every type of outfit and lure (including 22mm ring spanners) to decide just what is required to be a serious sportfishing jigger in the 2010 Perth Game Fishing scene led by Rhyss Whittred and Nick Hocking.

At one stage they have a 5 way hookup of 25 kilo plus fish try to annihilate their tackle in less than 15 minutes. So … just what DOES it take to stop samsonfish and other Perth sportfish without you sending the Visa card into shock? Today we’re going to find out!

EPISODE 7 - HUGE KALBARRI TAILOR

Views:  21340

Without doubt, this is the most dangerous fishing show Steve Correia has ever made. After being dumped on by a huge wave several years ago at “Black Rock” – the country’s best tailor spot, he returns with a better boat, a better team and MUCH bigger fish.

You’ll see them put their LeisureCat right into the 3 metre swell (!) as they risk life and limb to pull huge tailor from a spot that has seen 7 national tailor records. In the process, you’ll learn a lot about targeting these hunters in white water but, mostly, you’ll wonder how they got back alive!

EPISODE 2 - MIGGSY THE SQUID MASTER

Views:  25807

This is easily the funniest fishing show we’ve ever seen as Steve C goes fishing with Steve “Miggsy” Miguel and Steve the Crazy Russian.

BUT, here's the disclaimer: It has ... a little bit of swearing but not the f-bomb, grown men acting like gooses, toilet humour matched with some of the finest stand up comedy about the theme ingredient of squid that you'll see outside of Iron Chef.

However! You’ll see the debut of “Squid Cam” and you'll also learn tons about squidding PLUS all about Fremantle's fishing history. C'mon, you'd hate not to find out what a Squidly Pollock is!

Each year, the salmon migration from Esperance to Perth is the most exciting period of sportfishing action of the year. The fish are hungry and in their thousands, but how do you catch them?

EPISODE 1 - BREAM ON MUSSELS

Views:  37801

Welcome to the first episode of the new Series from Steve Correia. In this show, he takes a member of the public fishing to catch their dream fish.

Episode 1 features bream, and Steve takes Lachy to a land based location close to Perth on the Swan River, to shows him how to use whole mussels to catch huge black bream. You’ll be amazed at what size fish live right on Perth's doorstep!

Perth's Swan River is still a reasonably healthy waterway, despite a lot of pressure, and cruising around in the tannin stained water are loads of bream. Some of these fish are between and 45 and 50cm, not much smaller than a decent snapper, and here Steve sets out to prove you can catch a 40cm plus bream from shore. In fact, you'll see him catch a 46cm fish on mussels using only 4lb line.

If you want to catch big black bream from shore, this is the show for you.
